  • Offers details

Cefalù is a precious gem rich in history, art and legends, but it is also one of the best places in Sicily where you can savour the typical Sicilian street food!
Get ready for an exciting walking tour among the small streets of the city centre. You will have a great overview of Cefalù's history and art, a small city centre with an incredible mix of culture, legends and culinary delicacies.

You will meet your local guide in Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, the main square by the city seafront. After a brief historical introduction to the city, you will start walking towards Via Gioeni where you will be able to taste the indeed famous panino "Ca Meusa" (sandwich with spleen), a very must of the Palermitan area!
After this very first stop you will proceed towards the medieval wash house, by the outlet of the river Cefalino, where once upon a time wash-women used to wash clothes.

From here you will proceed towards the Porta Marina, the only door out of four that granted access to the historical centre that has remained intact. You can have a great view of the sea from there!Once you will have visited the tower Bastione and the Giudecca, the historical neighbourhood where the fishermen used to live, you will be able to enjoy your palate with a tasting of Panelle and Crocchè, a deep-fried meal that you cannot miss as you get to know the Palermitan cuisine!

Your guide will then lead you to Piazza Duomo, part of the UNESCO patrimony since 2015, where you will be introduced to the queen of the Palermitan street food... the arancina!

From here you will be taken through a neighbourhood made of small streets reaching the fortress until the Osteria Magno, historical building of the fortress. The traditional Palermitan Sfincione will be waiting for you there, a thick but tender focaccia with an irresistible topping!

If right now you are thinking that there is something still missing... you are definitely right! The last stop of your tour will be dedicated to the cannoli filled with ricotta cheese, the most famous Sicilian dessert in the world!

    Duration: about 2,5 h
    Total walking distance: 2,5 km
