The tour then continues to Porto Empedocle, the departure point for boats to the Pelagie Islands dispersed in the Southern-most waters of Italy. The scala is a wall of bright white rock that descends in steps towards the sea, where in the past Turkish pirates, during the Moorish invasions of 500, found shelter after their raids. The day continues to Marsala, a fascinating town where art and traditions come together harmoniously before the sea and untouched nature.
